FRANKS:</by> As the beaches in the Adelaide metropolitan area in some places are eroding, a new concern has come to the fore; that is, pieces of broken asbestos panels from long-demolished beach shacks and coastal shacks resurfacing and washing up on the shorelines, in particular identified at Henley and Henley South. My question to the minister is: what is the state government doing to address this issue?</text>

I am going to have to take that on notice. As the honourable member correctly pointed out, I think in yesterday's question time, I have ministerial responsibility in relation to a specific issue of the drift of sand in the northern beach cell that goes from around the West Beach area up to the Semaphore-Largs area.</text>
<text id="20240606e48723b83db24e2780000212">I have read media reports, as the honourable member obviously has as well, about issues to do with asbestos. My guess is that regulation is largely to do with the EPA. SafeWork SA also has oversight, in terms of the asbestos removal, but I don't think that is the issue. I am happy to take it on notice and bring back a reply for the honourable member.</text>
