SCRIVEN (Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development, Minister for Forest Industries):</by>  The Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services has advised:</inserted>

          <inserted>1.&amp;#x9;An on call member may only be granted take home approval in circumstances when it is not reasonably practicable to store the firearm at the workplace or nearest 24-hour police station and then only with written approval of the district/LSA/branch/group manager.</inserted>

          <inserted>2.&amp;#x9;The take home approval will not be authorised unless storage pursuant to the Firearms Regulations 2017 exists at the member's place of residence. All police issue firearms must be unloaded with the red safety flag in the chamber before being securely stored and must be stored separately from ammunition.</inserted>
