MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector):</by>  The Minister for Police, Emergency Services and Correctional Services has advised:</inserted>

          <inserted>Pursuant to section 37A of the Correctional Services Act 1982 (the act), release ordered home detention (ROHD) is a placement option within the prison system. </inserted>
        </text>
        <text id="2024043009a735c55de54e4db0000589">
          <inserted>ROHD is considered as part of sentence planning and the case review process. </inserted>
        </text>
        <text id="2024043009a735c55de54e4db0000590">
          <inserted>In relation to ROHD, a prisoner's suitability is assessed following the formulation of a prisoner's Individual development plan and consideration of their eligibility. </inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>ROHD is a provision for offenders to live and reintegrate in the community under strict supervision, with conditions of electronic monitoring at a nominated location. </inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>ROHD is at the sole discretion of the chief executive (or delegate) for Department for Correctional Services in accordance with section 37A of the act.</inserted>
