MAHER (Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Attorney-General, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector): The Treasurer has advised: There are approximately 100 general practices paying payroll tax currently. I am advised that 283 medical practices have applied for the amnesty. Medical practices that successfully applied for the amnesty will not be required to pay payroll tax retrospectively on contracted general practitioners.
