          <inserted>There are currently six vacant public housing properties on Kangaroo Island, all of which are located within Kingscote and in various stages of vacancy maintenance. Homes are repaired as quickly as possible although some trades and materials need to be brought in from the mainland which an affect completion times. </inserted>

          <inserted>The specific client referred to has a category 1 application which is the highest priority. Public housing allocations are made based on urgency and identifying a vacant property that suits a person's circumstances. </inserted>

          <inserted>Pending the allocation of a public or community housing property, organisations like Junction work with clients to advocate for alternative accommodation to avoid rough sleeping and homelessness. Given the lack of other options, Junction advocated for—and supported the client to obtain—long-term cabin accommodation in a caravan park.</inserted>
