SCRIVEN: I am guessing that those opposite, by their interjections, which I note are out of order, are asking why I wasn't there on the two actual days. The answer is: like the rest of my government, I am a minister who keeps their promises. I had been invited to address the Crawford Fund event here in Adelaide on the Friday and also to open the Maitland Show on the Yorke Peninsula on the Saturday. Since I had made those commitments prior to the invitation to attend the field days, it wasn't possible to actually attend the field day on the two days that it was open as well. However, I think because the field days are so very important, that's why it was important that I took the opportunity to visit on the set-up day— Members interjecting: The President Legislative Council The PRESIDENT: Order! SCRIVEN: —and that's why it was incredibly useful to be able to talk to so many of those involved in the field day, including the various organisations that I have mentioned. I think if those opposite think that ministers should break their promises, it says more about them than it does about me.
