MAHER:</by> Earlier today, during debate on the Plebiscite (South East Council Amalgamation) Bill 2022, I indicated on advice that Minister Brock had spoken to the mayors of both the City of Mount Gambier and the District Council of Grant prior to the introduction of the bill. I have since been informed that, while Minister Brock had made attempts to contact both mayors prior to the introduction of the bill, he had not heard a response from the Mayor of the District Council of Grant. The advice I was given was on the basis that it was in fact the member for Mount Gambier who had informed Minister Brock that he had spoken to the Mayor of the District Council of Grant prior to the introduction of the bill.</text>
