MAHER (Attorney-General, Minister for Aboriginal Affairs, Minister for Industrial Relations and Public Sector): I have been advised: The CAA commenced recruitment for the additional associates from the beginning of July, and this process is well advanced. Some cases have started to be received in the higher courts and it is expected that trials will commence in mid-2023. Infrastructure work is underway to increase the number of courtrooms that can accommodate the needs of the large number of multi-defendant trials from Operation Ironside. These works will be progressed throughout 2022.
