          <by role="member" id="605">The Hon. R.I. LUCAS (Treasurer) (15:19):</by>  The overarching responsibility, in many respects, will be the parliament's, in terms of the legislative authority. In relation to the work the commissioner undertakes, my understanding is that he would report at the appropriate time via or to the Attorney-General. I would need to check what the regulatory arrangements were as to whether he reports to the Attorney-General or whether he just reports via the Attorney-General publicly or to the parliament.</text>
        <text id="202106096d3c40be4c894461a0000219">Again, that is probably made clear in the legislative authorities of the commissioner. Not being the minister with responsibility for the commissioner in relation to these issues, it is not a matter of detail that I can respond to the honourable member on. I don't know that I can offer anything further by way of clarifying the honourable member's questions.</text>
