The costs of long-term housing and disability increase because their physical condition and independence keep deteriorating.</text>

J.M.A. LENSINK (Minister for Human Services) (14:54):</by>  I think she is assuming that people aren't necessarily receiving physiotherapy services in hospital or something of that nature. Ideally, nobody would want to spend any more time in hospital than they absolutely have to, I think that's a given. Nobody would disagree with that, but I think trying to portray the excellent work that the people who work in our public hospital system in trying to look after people who are in their care is a bit unfair to those staff.</text>
