          <inserted>The Minister for Education received the report on the review and the recommendations of the committee as to the retention, closure or amalgamation of the schools subject to the review. </inserted>

          <inserted>The minister gave consideration to the report and the recommendations of the committee that conducted the review under the (now repealed) Education Act 1972.</inserted>

          <inserted>The minister was aware that the report did not need to be tabled in parliament unless, of course, the minister made a decision contrary to the recommendations of a review committee. However, the minister was also aware that there was a high level of interest in the findings of the review and so determined that he would table the report to ensure all members have full access to the report, whether required to or not.</inserted>
