My question is: can the minister confirm why Gayle's family were not consulted before the decision was made public and what their response was in relation to the watering down of the regulations in relation to second responders?</text>

Connie Bonaros made in relation to her own submission: indeed, the honourable member did make a comment about that particular clause, but my understanding was that your concern, and that of one of your federal colleagues, was in relation to liability for any loss or injury.</text>

If I could go to the question that was in relation to the Woodford family, my understanding is that a copy of the draft regulations were provided to the Woodford family at the end of March and a response was received, but I do not believe it addressed this aspect.</text>
