LUCAS (Treasurer): The Attorney-General has provided the following advice: The Attorney has taken part in one Sentencing Council meeting since 17 March 2018. The Sentencing Advisory Council of South Australia was established by the previous government to undertake specific tasks at the direction of the Attorney-General and to provide advice to the Attorney-General. The government is committed to engaging broadly with the justice sector and the public on sentencing laws and will continue to do so in the absence of the council. Legal officers within the Attorney-General's Department are also available to provide advice on sentencing matters.
