          <inserted>State Records is investigating how the digital records of government can be captured, preserved and made accessible over the long term, this includes consideration of a digital archive.</inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>A business case is currently being developed by State Records, which will take into consideration experiences from other jurisdictions, including Victoria, the commonwealth and New Zealand. State Records has commenced consultation with key partner agencies and will consult more widely as part of developing the business case. The business case will determine options and associated costs. No legislative change is required to implement a digital archive. </inserted>
