As I have said previously, the best results are delivered in Aboriginal affairs and Aboriginal policy when Aboriginal people are involved in, not just the process, but in what the final shape of, whether it is policies or services, look like. Dr Thomas's first role will be to conduct extensive consultations right throughout South Australia about what that framework will look like, and, once that is done, he will be heavily involved in those discussions and negotiations about exactly what it looks like after that.</text>
