LUCAS (15:12):</by>  That was all very interesting but why is the minister being slippery and evasive and refusing to answer the question as to when he was first advised of the escape attempt from Port Augusta? The minister has given a lot of information but actually has not answered the question.</text>

MALINAUSKAS (Minister for Police, Minister for Correctional Services, Minister for Emergency Services, Minister for Road Safety) (15:13):</by>  As I stated earlier, it is very much my expectation that as significant events unfold, and an attempted escape would clearly fall into that category, that the Department for Correctional Services, principally their chief executive officer, keeps me informed of such events and this event was no exception. I was informed as the event was unfolding and also, during the early hours of the morning, I was advised when the incident was concluded as well, just as reasonably expected.</text>
