Can the minister confirm how many instances have been detected by Corrections of individuals apparently trying to tamper with their device using the alfoil, as exposed, if you like, on Channel 7 last night? MALINAUSKAS (Minister for Police, Minister for Correctional Services, Minister for Emergency Services, Minister for Road Safety) (15:06): As I said and already committed to, I am happy to take that question on notice and get the specific information that you have asked back. I have already made inquiries in light of the report on 7 News last night regarding this. I think the critical message that should be taken out of this is that the South Australian public does by and large remain safe and secure from those people who are on home detention. There are a range of technologies outside of the bracelet that are in place. DCS (Department for Correctional Services) already has in place a whole range of mechanisms to ensure that home detention orders are complied with that go beyond the anklet itself. Indeed, the unit that is responsible for monitoring home detention themselves do conduct random visits to people's homes to ensure that everything is in order. There are a whole range of checks and balances in place regarding home detention, and the public should have confidence that we are doing everything we can as a government to ensure that people who are on home detention do indeed comply with those orders and remain at home and out of harm's way. In regard to the specifics, those questions have already been raised, and again, I am more than happy to bring that information to the light of the public more broadly through this chamber as it comes to hand.
