<by role="member" id="3125">The PRESIDENT (15:08):</by> It is my sad duty to inform the Legislative Council that Ms Beverley Place, a Hansard reporter in this parliament for many years, passed away on Saturday 16 January 2016 after a short illness. Bev commenced as a Hansard sessional typist in 1982 and, with changes in technology, became a reporter and was a dedicated employee of the parliament. Bev always said she loved being a reporter, working at Parliament House with great people, doing the job she loved, and how happy she was to come to work each day.</text>
<text id="201602093571cab3dd134bca80000084">Bev was held in very high regard by all her colleagues and by the staff here at parliament. She worked until mid-November 2015, when she commenced sick leave. She is sorely missed by her good friends and parliamentary colleagues, and we in the Legislative Council extend our sympathy to her sons, Todd and David, daughters-in-law, Anna and Abbie, and her family and friends.</text>
