DAWKINS (15:48):</by>  Mount Gambier's <term>The Border Watch</term> newspaper has been named South Australia's BankSA Best Newspaper in the circulation over 6,000 category for the third year in a row. Country Press SA hosted the 2013 newspaper awards dinner at Adelaide Oval on Friday 7 March this year. The gala dinner was attended by 155 people representing newspapers from across the state as well as sponsors and guests.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000279">Murray Bridge's <term>The Murray Valley Standard</term> won the BankSA Best Newspaper circulation 2,500 to 6,000 category for a remarkable 10<sup>th</sup> year in a row. The Millicent <term>South Eastern Times</term>, a sister paper to <term>The Border Watch,</term> won the BankSA best newspaper under 2,500 circulation category for the second year in a row. Country Press SA President, David Wright, from the <term>Northern Argus</term> paper at Clare said:</text>

          <inserted>The awards recognised the outstanding efforts of country newspapers in serving and leading their local communities, while offering a benchmark for continued improvement and development. </inserted>

          <inserted>Country Press SA was excited to present the inaugural SA Power Networks bright spark award to Dylan Hogarth of <term>The Murray Valley Standard,</term> who started as a cadet journalist with <term>The Standard</term> some four years ago.</inserted>

        <text continued="true" id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000283">Having hosted the Country Press SA AGM here at Parliament House earlier in the day, I was delighted to present my award for best community profile to Joanne Fosdike of <term>The</term><term>Murray Valley Standard</term> and I am very grateful to Georgina McGuinness for once again judging my award.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000284">Other awards that were presented on the evening included the best advertisement which went to <term>The Leader</term> at Angaston, with the <term>Yorke Peninsula Country Times</term> in second place and <term>The Courier</term> at Mount Barker in third place. Best Advertisement (Priced Product) went to <term>The Courier,</term> with the<term> Katherine Times</term> in second position and the <term>Roxby Downs Sun</term> in third.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000285">Best Advertisement Feature went to the <term>Port Lincoln Times</term>, with <term>The Murray Pioneer</term> in second and <term>The Recorder</term> in third place. The Best Supplement was won again by <term>The Leader</term> at Angaston, with <term>The</term><term>South Eastern Times</term> and <term>The</term><term>Border Watch</term> in second and third places respectively.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000286">The Best News Photograph was won by the <term>Yorke Peninsula Country Times,</term> with the <term>Katherine Times</term> and <term>Barossa &amp; Light Herald</term> finishing in the placings. Best sports photograph went to the <term>Barossa &amp; Light Herald,</term> with <term>The Plains Producer</term> second and <term>The Islander</term> newspaper third.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000287">The Best Front Page was won by <term>The Courier</term> at Mount Barker, with the <term>Yorke Peninsula Country Times</term> and Barossa and Light<term> Herald</term> second and third respectively. The award for Editorial Writing went to Mr Rob McLean, the editor of <term>The Bunyip</term> newspaper in Gawler, second was <term>The Islander</term> and third place went to <term>The Murray Pioneer</term>.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000288">Excellence in Journalism was won by Jenny Oldland of the<term> Yorke Peninsula Country Times,</term> with <term>The Pennant</term> at Penola and <term>The Courier</term> at Mount Barker second and third respectively. The Best Sports Story was won by <term>The Courier</term>, with <term>The Murray Pioneer</term> second and the<term> Plains Producer</term> third.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000289">It is also worth mentioning again the outstanding efforts of the papers that won the overall circulation awards for multiple times. It is worthwhile in the time remaining mentioning that in the over 6,000 section, with <term>The Border Watch</term> having such a successful run, they won that award ahead of the<term> Yorke Peninsula Country Times</term> in second place and <term>The Courier</term> in third.</text>
        <text id="201405073655b711e53b4a5290000290">The award for the 2,500 to 6,000 section—<term>The Murray Valley Standard,</term> which has won that 10 times in a row and had numerous different judges in that time, won that award from <term>The Recorder</term> at Port Pirie and the<term> Northern Argus</term> and <term>The South Eastern Times </term>victory<term></term>in the under 2,500 section was won over <term>The River News</term> at Waikerie and the<term> Plains Producer</term>.</text>
