STEPHENS (14:40): My supplementary question is: have you seen any improvement in food security in the APY lands in the 10 years that you have been in government; and why will you not do the simple thing and provide the food transport subsidy? HUNTER: If there was, you would have made it. You would have done it when you were in government. The Hon. T.J. Stephens interjecting: The President Legislative Council The PRESIDENT: Order! I am listening, minister. The Hon. I.K. HUNTER Legislative Council The Hon. I.K. HUNTER: But, if the Hon. Mr Stephens is telling us today that his party is going to commit to a subsidy, then let us get that costed. Let us see what he is going to promise to the electorate before the next election and, if that is his firm commitment on behalf of his party and that is all they are going to do, we will very easily and happily go up against him on a more comprehensive plan which has some chance of having an impact.
