          <by role="member" id="3125">The Hon. R.P. WORTLEY (Minister for Industrial Relations, Minister for State/Local Government Relations):</by>  The Minister for Recreation and Sport has provided the following information:</text>
        <text id="20120529ab87a7fbe5a841eca0000282">The reduction in the number of SASI programs will allow us to better fund the remaining SASI programs and focus SASI resources and activities on sports and athletes with serious prospects for national and international success.</text>
        <text id="20120529ab87a7fbe5a841eca0000283">The Office for Recreation and Sport participation programs have not been reduced. Sport subsidies for individuals are not and have not been part of the funding programs. Participation in sport will not be reduced. Families will not be excluded.</text>
        <text id="20120529ab87a7fbe5a841eca0000284">The reduction in programs has been based on sports not on social demographics. Elite sport pathways will still exist through the sports and state sporting associations. It is core business for state sporting bodies to ensure this.</text>
