        <text id="201203276eb8a53d98184439a0000300">The Department for Education and Child Development sought legal advice on what can and cannot be said publicly on this matter. The Minister for Education and Child Development has been advised that while the matter is being investigated comments are not able to be made on the case without the risk of interfering in the due process of the legal system. The worst outcome would be for comments to be made publicly which may jeopardise the case surrounding the tragic death of the baby.</text>

        <text id="201203276eb8a53d98184439a0000301">With respect to policies and procedures regarding infants I can advise the Department for Education and Child Development take seriously all child protection reports regarding children. In recognition of the particular vulnerability of children under the age of 1 year, Families SA has an Infant at Risk Policy, Procedures, and Practice Standards to provide a framework for assessment and intervention with those families where infants (aged 0-1 year) have been harmed or are considered to be 'at risk' of harm.</text>
