Is it the government's intention to rezone land in these corridors for higher density housing, and is any of the land included in the 80 per cent of Adelaide which the government says it will not be rezoning? HOLLOWAY (Minister for Mineral Resources Development, Minister for Urban Development and Planning, Minister for Small Business) (14:36): Once consultation has concluded, we will then look at the final proposal for Adelaide's 30-year plan. That will encapsulate whatever are the agreed objectives, and then the detail of that will be implemented. We can say that, on the basis of the research that has been undertaken and without too much disruption to this city—as I said, affecting no more than 20 per cent of the current area—we can accommodate 70 per cent of the future expected population growth within the current boundaries. That is the objective. It is all very well for members opposite to try to raise doubts and to try to do things about that. It will be a hard ask, but what is the alternative? What is the Greens' policy. Do nothing? Have no growth or do nothing? The fact is that this government is setting out a way in which we believe that we can get the best value for every dollar of infrastructure that will be available in the next 30 years. It will be hard, but the best way we can do it is by concentrating the growth that we have along major transport corridors, because that will achieve a number of the objectives that we need simultaneously and it will have minimum impact upon the existing suburbs. Whatever the final form, if we achieve this objective over 30 years (and there is a long way to go yet) it will be one in which 80 per cent of the current suburbs will be untouched.
