I had indicated that the government had a number of reservations about the bill particularly in regard to the extent of Coroner's inquiries that would be envisaged by this bill. I indicated that the government was consulting the Coroner and, without further information, we would be opposing the bill as it stands. That was only a month or so ago, so I have no further information to report to the council and I again indicate that, if it comes to a vote when we return, in the absence of any change, we will be opposing the bill.</text>

WADE (22:07):</by>  I am not surprised by the government's tardiness on this issue, but it does not really need to wait for a response from the Coroner. The Coroner has said time and again in his annual reports what his attitude is, and I propose to reference those in my contribution. I rise to indicate that the opposition supports this bill and I seek leave to conclude my remarks later.</text>
