          <by role="member" id="603">The Hon. R.D. LAWSON:</by> I claim to have been misrepresented by the Attorney-General who, earlier today in the other place, complained of remarks made by me in this chamber yesterday. The substance of my remarks yesterday was that the Attorney-General had been guilty of discreditable conduct when, in 2004, he attempted to have a report tabled in parliament for an ulterior purpose.</text>
        <text id="20090305b2f85a0ab32c4deda0000679">The Attorney accused me of deliberately misleading the council, not because I accused him of discreditable conduct but because I described his remarks in the house on Tuesday as gratuitously insulting the executive producer of <term>Today Tonight</term>. What the Attorney-General said earlier this week was:</text>

          <inserted>In the three weeks that have passed since the sentencing of Terry Norman Stephens, I have not noticed <term>Today Tonight</term> tell its audience the outcome of the Terry Norman Stephens' prosecution, which I would have thought was a necessary coda to its 2002 series of sensational claims.</inserted>
        </text>
        <text continued="true" id="20090305b2f85a0ab32c4deda0000681">The clear implication of the Attorney's statement was that <term>Today Tonight </term>was under an obligation to inform its audience of certain matters but that it failed to do so. That is clearly a reflection on Channel 7 and its executive producer, who happens to be Graham Archer. Far from me misrepresenting the Attorney, he has misrepresented me.</text>
