          <by role="member" id="629">The Hon. CARMEL ZOLLO (Minister for Correctional Services, Minister for Road Safety, Minister for Gambling, Minister Assisting the Minister for Multicultural Affairs):</by>  I am advised:</text>
        <text id="20080925f0bbd8af58854e3380000275">Tough conditions for parole and intensive bail supervision result in a larger than usual rate of return to corrections. They are an integral part of this government’s tough on crime strategy that also focuses police attention on prisoners leaving prison to make the community safer by targeting repeat offenders.</text>
        <text id="20080925f0bbd8af58854e3380000276">Offenders under the supervision of the Department for Correctional Services are provided with either one on one or group counselling, depending on their individual needs.</text>
        <text id="20080925f0bbd8af58854e3380000277">Prior to counselling, professional departmental staff determine the best way to ensure that an offender receives the support required and this assessment determines whether or not group or individual or therapy is provided.</text>
        <text id="20080925f0bbd8af58854e3380000278">I am advised that the programs referred to by Mr Chivell, to which the honourable member refers, were in fact regarding psychological and anger management counselling at the Elizabeth Community Correctional Centre.</text>
