            <by role="member" id="625">The Hon. SANDRA KANCK (16:44):</by>  The Democrats support this important initiative as a small but significant step in creating a smoke-free Adelaide. Creating smoke-free clean air zones is an effective public health measure and we support their implementation whenever and wherever possible.</text>
          <text id="20080402f066784e5ed74ac6b0000511">In the absence of stricter statewide controls, which we have tried to get on a number of occasions, I applaud this move by the Hon. David Ridgway. I look forward to the enthusiastic cooperation of other members of this chamber and the Adelaide City Council in promoting a smoke-free city for World No Tobacco Day 2008.</text>
          <text id="20080402f066784e5ed74ac6b0000512">In a similar vein to the welcome signs in Norway, which say 'Welcome to Norway. The only thing we smoke here is fish', I look forward to the day when visitors to Adelaide are welcomed with a sign that says, 'Welcome to Adelaide. The only thing we smoke here is almonds.'</text>
