HILDYARD (Reynell—Minister for Child Protection, Minister for Domestic, Family and Sexual Violence, Minister for Women): I have been advised of the following: Since forming government, we have been committed, through a number of programs, to building capacity within the department to better respond to the needs of children and young people in contact with the system. These programs have led to a decrease in the number of children and young people in residential care. In the last financial year, the number of children and young people in residential care decreased by 4 per cent.
