          <inserted>Emergency departments at Mount Barker, Gawler and South Coast hospitals have been operating with limited physical capacity to manage the increasing numbers of presentations and level of complexity that has been experienced over the past twelve months. This has impacted on the ability to flow patients efficiently through the ED and subsequently on ‘time spent in the ED’.</inserted>

          <inserted>Capital redevelopments of these EDs are being undertaken. The new Mount Barker ED has opened, the new Gawler ED has opened. Construction of a new emergency department at South Coast is underway.</inserted>
