            <inserted>69CBA—Short term closure order</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(1)&amp;#x9;The Minister may, by notice in writing, order that specified premises be closed (a <term>short term closure order</term>) if the Minister reasonably suspects that—</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0000999">
          <item sublevel="4">
            <inserted>(a)&amp;#x9;prescribed products are being, or are likely to be, sold or supplied at the premises as part of a business being carried on at the premises; or</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001000">
          <item sublevel="4">
            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;tobacco products or e-cigarette products are being, or are likely to be, unlawfully sold or supplied at the premises as part of a business being carried on at the premises.</inserted>
          </item>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(2)&amp;#x9;A short term closure order has effect for a period of 28 days from the day specified in the order (but nothing prevents the making of a subsequent short term closure order in respect of the same premises).</inserted>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(3)&amp;#x9;The Minister may, by notice in writing, vary or revoke a short term closure order.</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(4)&amp;#x9;A notice under this section must be—</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001004">
          <item sublevel="4">
            <inserted>(a)&amp;#x9;given to the person apparently in charge of the premises; or</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001005">
          <item sublevel="4">
            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;given to the owner of the premises; or</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="4">
            <inserted>(c)&amp;#x9;posted in a conspicuous place—</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001007">
          <item sublevel="5">
            <inserted>(i)&amp;#x9;in the case of premises other than mobile premises—at the entrance to the premises; or</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001008">
          <item sublevel="5">
            <inserted>(ii)&amp;#x9;in the case of mobile premises—</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001009">
          <item sublevel="6">
            <inserted>(A)&amp;#x9;on the mobile premises; or</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="6">
            <inserted>(B)&amp;#x9;at the entrance to premises that are connected to the business carried on from the mobile premises.</inserted>
          </item>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(5)&amp;#x9;A short term closure order may be made regardless of whether an interim closure order is, or has been, in effect in relation to the premises.</inserted>

            <inserted>Expiation fee: </inserted>
          </item>

          <item sublevel="4">
            <inserted>(a)&amp;#x9;in the case of a body corporate—$10,000;</inserted>
          </item>

            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;in the case of an individual—$2,500.</inserted>
          </item>

            <inserted>(3)&amp;#x9;The Minister may, by notice in writing (an <term>exemption notice</term>), exempt a person from the operation of subsection (2) in relation to specified premises on terms and conditions specified in the notice.</inserted>

            <inserted>(4)&amp;#x9;An exemption notice must—</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001033">
          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(a)&amp;#x9;be given to the person to whom the exemption applies; and</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001034">
          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;specify the closed premises in relation to which the exemption applies; and</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001035">
          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(c)&amp;#x9;set out the details of the condition of the exemption specified in subsection (5).</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202504037d420b87d8d24ab8a0001036">
          <item sublevel="2">
            <inserted>(5)&amp;#x9;It is a condition of an exemption under subsection (3) that the person to whom the exemption applies must not carry on a business, or cause or permit another to carry on a business, on the closed premises specified in the exemption notice.</inserted>
