          <text continued="true" id="20250401c6509735a0684afaa0000644">A supply bill is necessary until the budget has passed through the parliamentary stages and the Appropriation Bill 2025 receives assent. In the absence of special arrangements in the form of the supply acts, there would be no parliamentary authority for expenditure between the commencement of the new financial year and the date on which assent is given to the Appropriation Bill. The amount being sought under this bill is $7,681 million.</text>
          <text id="20250401c6509735a0684afaa0000645">I will not speak at any further length about the bill, but I note that the Supply Bill is usually an opportunity for all members of the house to reflect on not just matters that may be relevant to the state budget but, in particular, the opportunities that they have had in the preceding financial year and the coming financial year to represent their communities and to highlight to the house some of the matters of interest or concern to their communities.</text>
          <text id="20250401c6509735a0684afaa0000646">In that respect, I am very much looking forward to the contributions of members on the Supply Bill and, of course, their ultimate consideration of the bill. I seek leave to have the second reading explanation of clauses inserted in <term>Hansard </term>without my reading it.</text>
