BOYER (Wright—Minister for Education, Training and Skills): I have been advised of the following: Wherever possible the Department for Education engages and utilises its own ICT workforce to ensure the delivery of projects and services. Due to the specialised nature of many ICT roles and a highly competitive labour market, at times there may be a need to utilise external contractors to ensure uninterrupted provision of critical support functions to corporate office, schools and preschools. Contractors listed in the annual report are engaged to undertake a combination of long-term and short-term priorities for the department.'
