When will the review of the APY arts collective be complete, and has the minister spoken with artists about the impact the review may be having on their work and wellbeing? The Hon. A. In terms of a time frame, the issues being considered on the APY Art Centre Collective are certainly broader than the National Gallery's review, so what I have said to the panel is for them to make haste in their review. I would hope to have something by the end of the year, but I am not putting a deadline on it because of the sensitivity of the issues they are investigating and the complexity of the issues they are investigating. What we may have seen in The Australian is obviously the headline grabber of 'white hand on black art', but beyond that there are a number of allegations around coercive control, governance issues around the APY Art Centre Collective, a broad range of issues that are being investigated and are part of the terms of reference. Given the extent of that, I am reluctant to put a hard time line on it, but I am aware both amongst my national colleagues—other arts ministers around the country—and from arts workers and artists around the country that it is having a national impact, so the panel have been instructed to work as quickly as they can but work as thoroughly as they can. I think one of the criticisms, potentially, of the National Gallery's review is that it was very narrow. I think they gave themselves about six weeks and it took them about 12 weeks, so double the length of time that they expected. I don't want to put us in that situation, because of the sensitivity and the complexity of getting that evidence that we need to be able to thoroughly investigate these allegations. So I am definitely hoping by the end of the year but I do not have a hard deadline on that because of the nature of the investigation.
