KOUTSANTONIS (West Torrens—Minister for Infrastructure and Transport, Minister for Energy and Mining):</by>  The Department for Infrastructure and Transport advises as a result of the Optus data breach an estimated 125,051 customers had their driver's licence number changed.</inserted>

          <inserted>The Malinauskas government assisted South Australians affected by the Optus data breach through the waiving of the standard $20 licence replacement fee to affected South Australian customers.</inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>At the time, we announced our intention to seek reimbursement from Optus of any taxpayer liability.</inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>In December 2022, we advised that our negotiations with Optus were successful, with Optus providing reimbursements for the cost of replacing affected licence cards and associated expenses.</inserted>

          <inserted>This outcome could not have been achieved without the outstanding work of Service SA workers across the state. Their tireless efforts helped South Australians regain security of their identity.</inserted>

          <inserted>This reimbursement by Optus, coupled with Service SA raising the bar when it comes to public service, is an excellent outcome to an unfortunate event.</inserted>
