MALINAUSKAS (Croydon—Premier) (11:07):</by> I will save the bulk of my remarks for the steps of parliament, but I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts and contributions that have been made by so many to get us to the point that we are today, none more so than the Minister for Aboriginal Affairs and the Attorney-General of South Australia, the Hon. Kyam Maher. I would particularly like to acknowledge as well Commissioner Dale Agius for his extraordinary efforts in consulting so many South Australians, particularly Indigenous South Australians in the development of this legislation.</text>
<text id="20230326db71e911595a4fa490000017">I acknowledge and indeed completely respect the fact that this legislation has not enjoyed unanimous support within this place, but the debate that has got us to the point that we are today has been extraordinarily civil, considered and courteous, and I would like to thank all members for their contribution in that effort. I also hope that following the passage of today's legislation the Indigenous Voice to our parliament can be something that all MPs regardless of their political persuasion for generations to come can support and indeed utilise at its best.</text>
<text id="20230326db71e911595a4fa490000018">This is a momentous piece of legislation for our First Nations people. It has been a long time coming, but First Nations Voice will now be heard in the state of South Australia. I commend this bill to the house.</text>
