          <inserted>New liquor licence applications decreased by 12 per cent to 519 in 2021-22 from 590 in 2020-21. This slight decline can likely be attributed to higher numbers of packaged liquor sales and an increase in liquor production and sales licences during 2020-21 when many home liquor businesses were established as a result of COVID-19.</inserted>

          <inserted>The number of applications to transfer licences has remained the same over 2020-21 and 2021-22.</inserted>

          <inserted>There was a notable decrease in licence variations due to changes to liquor licensing fees in 2020-21 resulting in a number of licensees applying to downgrade their trading hours and capacities to reduce their fees.</inserted>
