          <inserted>The latest publicly available figures show that as at end of September 2021 there were 2450 school-based trainees and apprentices in training in South Australia. This is taken from the National Centre for Vocational Education Research (NCVER) National Apprentice and Trainee Collection September quarter 2021.</inserted>

          <inserted>There is not a current target in terms of a specific number of school-based apprentices and trainees across all industry sectors. </inserted>

          <inserted>The Department for Education will continue to engage with industry, including through the South Australian Skills Commission, to determine and respond to the skills needs of South Australian businesses.</inserted>
