          <inserted>There were around 1,900 electric vehicles registered in South Australia in April 2021. This includes battery electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles.</inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>Forecasts of electric vehicle take up rates are subject to a high degree of uncertainty. They are particularly sensitive to assumptions about the price of electric vehicles and model availability.  </inserted>
        </text>

          <inserted>The Department of Treasury and Finance considered electric vehicle take-up assumptions from a number of sources including the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications), the Future Fuels Strategy (Department of Industry, Science, Energy and Resources), and the Australian Energy Market Operator. </inserted>

          <inserted>For forecasting purposes, I am advised that the Department of Treasury and Finance has estimated the total number of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, battery electric vehicles and fuel cell electric vehicles registered in South Australia as follows:</inserted>
