          <inserted>The Australian government has the remit to manage, measure and report on local content commitments made with the Naval Group for the construction of the Attack class submarines. This has recently been bolstered by the Australian government in strengthening the industry content provisions in the implementation of the Australian Standard for Defence Contracting (ASDEFCON) suite of tendering and contracting templates, and through the introduction of an independent audit program to ensure large Defence companies are meeting their contracted Australian industry commitments.</inserted>

          <inserted>The South Australian government measures the growth in employment and revenue for the defence industry as a whole. The defence industry is one of the state government’s nine priority sectors and is expected to significantly contribute to achieving the Growth State plan’s aim to grow gross state product on average by 3 per cent.</inserted>
