          <inserted>The Department for Infrastructure and Transport has recently awarded a contract for the maintenance of statewide road lighting. This is the first time these services have been outsourced. Any savings from the contract are not expected to be significant, but they would be applied to the Department's annual efficiency savings.</inserted>

          <inserted>Any savings arising from this contractual arrangement would be in addition to the $34 to $35 million savings per year estimated to be achieved by the end of the forward estimates from outsourcing measures.</inserted>
