          <inserted>The new cell (cell 3) being constructed by Southern Waste ResourceCo for the disposal of wastes permitted under its existing licence, meets the requirements of the Environment Protection Authority (EPA) guidelines for the environmental management of landfill facilities for solid waste disposal, April 2019 as a suitable landfill type for chemically contaminated waste that meets the disposal criteria.</inserted>

          <inserted>The type of lining for cell 3 is determined as a suitable landfill type for the disposal of PFAS-contaminated waste as stated in the national agreement between commonwealth, states and territories, which was agreed to by the former government in February 2018. The landfill acceptance criteria in version two of the PFAS NEMP, which was agreed to between commonwealth, states and territories in January 2020, remains the same as originally agreed to in version one of the NEMP.</inserted>
