        <text id="202007016566ff727b13457c90000992">The Legislative Council agreed to the bill with the amendments indicated by the following schedule, to which amendments the Legislative Council desires the concurrence of the House of Assembly:</text>

          <inserted>No. 1. Clause 7, page 5, lines 4 to 19 [clause 7, inserted section 9(1) and (2)]—Delete inserted subsections (1) and (2) and substitute:</inserted>

          <item sublevel="2">
            <inserted>(1)&amp;#x9;The Teachers Registration Board consists of not less than 11 and not more than 14 members appointed by the Governor of whom—</inserted>

            <inserted>(a)&amp;#x9;at least 6 must be practising teachers, of whom—</inserted>

            <inserted>(i)&amp;#x9;at least 4 must be nominated by the Australian Education Union (S.A. Branch); and</inserted>
          </item>

            <inserted>(ii)&amp;#x9;at least 2 must be nominated by the Independent Education Union (S.A. Branch); and</inserted>

            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;at least 1 must be a person nominated jointly by the Association of Independent Schools of South Australia Incorporated and Catholic Education SA; and</inserted>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(c)&amp;#x9;at least 1 must be a person employed in the field of teacher education nominated jointly by the universities in the State; and</inserted>
          </item>

          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(d)&amp;#x9;at least 1 must be a person nominated by the Chief Executive of the Department; and</inserted>
          </item>

            <inserted>(e)&amp;#x9;the remaining members are members nominated by the Minister, of whom—</inserted>
          </item>

            <inserted>(i)&amp;#x9;at least 1 must be a legal practitioner; and</inserted>
          </item>

            <inserted>(ii)&amp;#x9;1 must be a parent of a school student appointed to represent the community interest.</inserted>

            <inserted>(2)&amp;#x9;At least half of the members appointed under subsection (1) must be registered teachers.</inserted>

            <inserted>(1)&amp;#x9;The Teachers Registration Board must, at least once in every 5 year period and in accordance with any requirements set out in the regulations, conduct a survey of registered teachers in this State to ascertain their views on—</inserted>

            <inserted>(a)&amp;#x9;the curriculum for initial teacher education in this State; and</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202007016566ff727b13457c90001012">
          <item sublevel="3">
            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;the quality and effectiveness of initial teacher education in this State generally.</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="202007016566ff727b13457c90001013">
          <item sublevel="2">
            <inserted>(2)&amp;#x9;On completion of a survey under this section, the Teachers Registration Board must prepare a report on the results of the survey and provide a copy of the report to the Minister.</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="2">
            <inserted>(3)&amp;#x9;The Minister must, within 12 sitting days after receiving a report under subsection (2), have copies of the report laid before both Houses of Parliament.</inserted>
          </item>

          <item sublevel="2">
            <inserted>(4)&amp;#x9;Nothing in this section requires a teacher to take part in a survey conducted under this section (and, to avoid doubt, a teacher cannot be compelled to do so).</inserted>

          <inserted>No. 5. Clause 20, page 9, after line 37 [clause 20, inserted section 26A]—Insert:</inserted>

            <inserted>(2a)&amp;#x9;Without limiting any other circumstances in which the Teachers Registration Board may reduce or waive an annual fee under this section, if a teacher pays the annual fee in advance in relation to the full term of their registration period, the Teachers Registration Board must cause the amount payable to be reduced by at least 5%.</inserted>

            <inserted>(b)&amp;#x9;must have regard to any submissions made by a person or body referred to in paragraph (a) during the period specified by the Teachers Registration Board (being a period not less than 1 month); and</inserted>
