          <inserted>The Department for Education's policy position, published on its intranet, is for temporary or casual employees impacted by COVID-19 to be paid for rostered or booked shifts where they:</inserted>

            <inserted>fall ill themselves;</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="20200428629922353dee4ac390000917">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">
            <inserted>need to self-isolate due to SA Health or Australian Government protocol;</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="20200428629922353dee4ac390000918">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">
            <inserted>are directed away due to site closure; or</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>
        <text id="20200428629922353dee4ac390000919">
          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">
            <inserted>are required to care for a family member who:</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">
            <inserted>has tested positive for COVID-19;</inserted>
          </item>
        </text>

          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">
            <inserted>is required to self-isolate due to COVID-19;</inserted>
          </item>

          <item sublevel="1" bullet="true">
            <inserted>is unable to attend school or preschool due to site closure.</inserted>
          </item>

          <inserted>In addition, the department has communicated that temporary contracts for school services officers and early childhood workers that if not for COVID-19 would ordinarily have been in place for term 2 will be extended.</inserted>
