          <inserted>Mr Handley, of Handley Accounting, has been engaged by a registered training organisation (North West Business Development Centre) to assist them with auditing and compliance activity, including ASQA auditing and compliance activities. In line with the legislation (specifically 5(1)(b) of the act) Mr Handley was deemed to have the 'appropriate experience' and had also been 'engaged' in vocational education or training. Crown advice was sought prior to making recommendations to the Governor on the appointment. </inserted>

          <inserted>Mr Handley brings valuable financial and auditing skills that are a great benefit to the operation of the board. I have been advised that soon after his appointment Mr Handley was elected unanimously as Chair of the CITB's Finance and Audit Committee.</inserted>
