          <inserted>SA Water has since strengthened its processes to further mitigate the risk of cross-connections and misconnections occurring in future where households are supplied by both drinking and recycled water. </inserted>

          <inserted>As such, in addition to conducting follow-up water testing when the meters are installed, audits are now conducted during construction to confirm correct water supply from the main to the water meter.</inserted>

          <inserted>Further to this, and prior to the drinking water meters being activated, SA Water will check that the drinking water pipe and meter are connected to the drinking water mains. If SA Water is unable to inspect the service, the contracted officer is required to provide SA Water with photographic evidence confirming the services have been correctly connected.</inserted>
