<inserted>Prior to the expiry of a working with children check, DCP reminds a carer and/or carer agency of the impending expiry and the requirements of the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017. If the situation is not rectified, a DCP case manager will contact the carer/carer agency to discuss the situation. If a new clearance is still not obtained, DCP would take action to ensure the safety of any children placed with the affected carer. An order would be issued to remove the child or children from the placement. Practice guides provide advice to staff in these situations.</inserted>
