SANDERSON (Adelaide—Minister for Child Protection): I have been advised: Pursuant to section 110A(2) of the Children and Young People (Safety) Act 2017 (CYPS Act)and regulation 34 of the Children and Young People (Safety) Regulations 2017 (CYPS Regulations), persons working in residential facilities established under the Family and Community Services Act 1972 who are not employees of the Department for Child Protection (i.e. NGO and commercial care staff and volunteers) will be required to undergo psychological assessment by 6 September 2019. Pursuant to section 107 of the CYPS Act and regulation 31 of the CYPS Regulations persons employed in a licensed children's residential facility are required to undergo a psychological assessment by 22 April 2020.
