VAN HOLST PELLEKAAN (Stuart—Minister for Energy and Mining): I have been advised: The Minister for Health and Wellbeing informed the council on 8 May 2018, he did not request that the Chief Medical Officer purchase flu vaccine supplies. The Minister for Health and Wellbeing's response at that time was: 'The fact of the matter is I have had discussions with the Chief Medical Officer. The Chief Medical Officer has said that he has been able to secure supplies. I didn't order him to put the order in; I am very glad he did.' (p.53) The Minister for Health and Wellbeing advised that the first order for flu vaccine stock for the South Australian influenza program for all children aged 6 months to less than five years of age was placed with the manufacturer on 23 April 2018. There had been inquiries and correspondence prior to the change in government about the possibility of such a program and at that time the advice from vaccine manufacturers was that there was insufficient supply to support such a program.
