      <text id="20171101dc3152920bc8482fa0000212">His Excellency the Governor, by message, informed the House of Assembly that the Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, in accordance with section 21 of the Constitution of the Commonwealth of Australia, has notified him that, in consequence of the resignation on 1 November 2017 of Senator Nicholas Xenophon, a vacancy has happened in the representation of this state in the Senate of the Commonwealth.</text>
      <text id="20171101dc3152920bc8482fa0000213">The Governor is advised that, by such vacancy having happened, the place of senator has become vacant before the expiration of his term within the meaning of section 15 of the constitution and that such place must be filled by the houses of parliament sitting and voting together, choosing a person to hold it in accordance with the provisions of the said section.</text>
