MULLIGHAN (Lee—Minister for Transport and Infrastructure, Minister for Housing and Urban Development) (15:22):</by>  My understanding is that quite a bit of consultation was done. This was a request which came from the heavy vehicle transport industry to remove red tape on them, making it easier for them to meet their fatigue management obligations under the new Heavy Vehicle National Law, which requires them to keep a detailed record of all their driving hours while they are in the driver's seat, so to speak, and ensure that they are able to carry out their driving task but stay within the law.</text>
        <text id="201611150081cd2f0ffa459490001104">If you would like to know exactly which organisations were involved in that, perhaps I can provide it at two levels—one, who agitated for it at the state level, as well as all of the consultation which I understand, and I will check this, was undertaken by the National Transport Commission, if not the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.</text>
